Beyond Words

Art Davidson is a master craftsman of the written word. His collection of essays and myths from around the world perfectly complement the beautiful photography by Art Wolfe in Light of the Land. Davidson's previous books include In the Wake of the Exxon Valdez, Alakshak, and The Cirlce of Life.

Davidson, a resident of Anchorage, has worked for the past 25 years with Native Alaskans to record adn preserve their tradiional lifestyles and values. He produced the highly acclaimed film Our Land—Our Life, and he participated in the expedition that made the historic first winter ascent of Mount McKinley (Denali).
