Margot Datz

1 min read

Margot Datz began her career in sculpture, which soon developed into a love of murals, trompe l’oeil, decorative painting, and interior design. The self-taught painter embellishes the walls of hundreds of homes and businesses, on and off Martha’s Vineyard, as well as her eighty-five-foot mural and bas-relief installation for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. In addition to her murals, framed paintings, and print series, she has illustrated four children’s books for longtime friend Carly Simon, and of course, the beguiling Survival Guide to Landlocked Mermaids.
