Healthy Trail Mix

Headed out on the trail for a few last hikes before the end of the summer? Pack this healthy version of trail mix from our authors James and Debra Rouse to keep you energized, and blazing forward. Always remember to think eat move thrive!

Happy National Trail Mix Day!

  1. Mix together a combination of raw and unsalted almonds, filberts, macadamia nuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds, for a total of 1 cup.
  2. Mix together a combination of dried tart cherried, dried currants, and dried mulberries, for a total of 1/2 cup.
  3. Combine the nuts, seeds, and fruit with 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or nibs (at least 70% chocolate).

Store any unused trail mix in an airtight container between adventures.
