It’s a New Year and A New You!
Like most of us you are probably motivated and ready to stick to those ever-illusive New Year's Resolutions, right??? We all want to start the New Year off right, but don’t feel bad if you’ve already begun to slide off track. It can be difficult to give up those pesky habits; the sugar in your coffee, late night snacks, giving up weekly happy hours, getting to an afternoon Yoga class, and convincing yourself to get up 30 minutes earlier to go for a run can all be challenges. Here at Beyond Words we strive to inspire people through our work. Our goals center on helping people learn, grow, and to help others gain wholeness and completeness for themselves. We are honored to be a resource for personal growth through the books we publish. So if you are struggling to keep up with the changes you promised yourself would immediately begin on January 1, we have compiled a list of some inspirational reads to keep you motivated. After all, small changes are usually the ones that create a big impact!

1 Year, 100 Pounds: My Journey to a Better, Happier Life By Whitney Holcombe
At age 14, Whitney Holcombe bravely stepped onto her bathroom scale, coming face to face with a hard fact: She weighed 230 pounds. That number controlled every aspect of her life until one day she chose to take charge and go from being the “fat girl” to a healthy, confident young woman who’s dedicated to helping others make positive life choices.
Author Jon Gabriel uses his own remarkable transformation—from 409 pounds to 184 pounds—to show the solution to changing the inner belief systems that keep our bodies from thin. Like The Secret for weight loss, but with a 'green'/organic approach, The Gabriel Method works for anyone, any time. By adding back in the nutrients our bodies crave, and learning how to really listen to ourselves, we switch our self-destructive patterns to ones filled with health, joy, and a new, slim body.

Tipping Sacred CowsBy Betsy Chasse
In Tipping Sacred Cows, Chasse takes readers on a playful romp through the muddy fields of spirituality, urging them to tip over their sacred cows of belief and realize that they do have a choice, a choice to believe the stories we tell ourselves or create new ones. Her witty, yet unflinching, dissection of her own experience exposes the fragile beliefs we all hold dear. In a book that’s anything but quiet, Chasse tells it like it is—giving readers the freedom to break free of their old paradigms and patterns, and gleefully frolic through their fields of cows tipping at will. And in the process, create a whole new reality for themselves.
Tipping Sacred Cows is not a book of answers, but a candid, no-nonsense guide to crafting your own answers as experienced by one of the most humorous and perceptive spiritual experts of our time.
So don't get discouraged by a few set-backs, these recommended staff-picks are go-to inspirational reads to help all of us stay on track, and discover who we are capable of becoming. Happy 2014!
