Mimi Guarneri, MD, FACC, ABIHM, is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, nuclear medicine and holistic medicine. She's president of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and serves as Senior Advisor to the Atlantic Health System for the Center for Well Being and Integrative Medicine. Dr. Guarneri founded the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine and served as Medical Director for 15 years. She is now founder and director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc. and Taylor Academy for Integrative Medicine Education and Research located at Pacific Pearl La Jolla in La Jolla, CA.

Dr. Guarneri is the author of The Heart Speaks, a collection of stories from heart patients who have benefited from integrative medicine approaches. Her work has been featured on NBC Today and PBS’s To the Contrary. She has been recognized for her national leadership in integrative medicine serving as chair of the Bravewell Clinical Network from 2003-2013. In 2009, Dr. Guarneri was honored as the ARCS scientist of the year. In 2011, Dr. Guarneri was the winner of the Bravewell Leadership Award. Most recently, she received the 2012 Linus Pauling Functional Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Grace A. Goldsmith award from the American College of Nutrition.

She’s president and CEO of the newly formed Academy for Integrative Health and Medicine.
